Oscar De La Hoya and Ryan Garcia Beefing Over Tank Post-Fight Presser
Well it appears the flames of animosity are sufficiently stoked and raging between super lightweight boxer “King” Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KO’s) and promoter Oscar De La Hoya. This is not the first time that Garcia and the Golden Boy Promotions founder have bumped heads. The two-famously almost split ways several years ago when King Ryan, ranked #5 (WBA), #6 (WBO), #8 (WBC) and #13 (IBF), publicly aired his negative feelings about how he was being treated. In that instance however, cooler heads prevailed and their working relationship continued.

The ill-will appears to have reignited following Garcia’s last fight with Regular WBA 135-pound champion Gervonta Davis. In that affair, King Ryan, 24, would go on to suffer his first professional loss by way of stoppage. To make matters worse, there was virtually zero representation from Golden Boy at the post-fight conference. This rather glaring lack of support became a rather significant issue in boxing circles.
Clearly the dust has not not settled as Garcia and De La Hoya, 50, are going blow-for-blow on social media. Without question, airing this dirty laundry out before the fans is a very bad look for Golden Boy.
It will be very revealing to see where his situation goes from here. Given the bad blood the two have previously shared, combined with King Ryan’s perceived new sleights, it’s hard not to predict an impending separation. Yet, no matter how the cards may fall, 3Kings Boxing will be here to report the news.
