De La Hoya co-signs a future Canelo vs Spence fight!

IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence has said in the past that he would love a fight with two division champion Canelo Alvarez. Well, in a recent interview, Alvarez’s Promoter De La Hoya says he welcomes that; even calling it a “super fight”.

Both men have business to take care of in their respective divisions. Currently, Alvarez is preparing for his long anticipated rematch with Gennady Golovkin. Spence, on the other hand, is looking to establish himself as the guy at 147. This fight has the potential to be huge if promoted right.

Spence, who’s from Dallas, has a huge following. Just revisit his fight with Carlos Ocampo a few months ago. Alvarez, on the other hand, drew a huge crowd when he fought Liam Smith at the Dallas Cowboys stadium. Notably, Texas has a huge Mexican population.

As much as boxing fans would love to see this fight happen, it must be pointed out that both guys have huge fights at their respective weight classes that need to take place before a potential Texas showdown happens.
