Derek Chisora Drops Otto Wallin Twice For The Easy Victory
Heavyweight Derek “War” Chisora (28-2, 15 KOs) delivered an exciting performance against Otto Wallin (27-3, 15 KOs) the win. In addition, he dropped Wallin twice in what was billed as Chisora’s last fight.
Straight out the gate, Chisora was an efficient ring bully who hounded Wallin with a stabbing body jab, an unlawful amount of wicked hooks. Surprisingly, the rather slow and cumbersome War slipped or blocked Wallin’s offense.
Somewhat equally surprising was how frequently and relatively easily Chisora would coral Wallin on the ropes to pummel him. To underscore this, War nearly forced a stoppage in the eighth and dropped Wallin in the ninth and twelfth periods.
The main adversity that Chisora suffered was a bloody cut from an accidental headbutt, his lagging stamina late in the fight, and his shot balance. Wallin was never able to control or dominate the fight for any sizable or consistent portion.
As a result, Chisora prevailed by unanimous decision to the tune of 117-109, 114-112, and 116-110. Also, the win secured him the final IBF title eliminator.
