Devin Haney and Jo Jo Diaz continue to feud on social media

Well, social media is the entertaining platform again as fans grab the popcorn and watch WBC lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (26-0, 15ko) and WBC Interim titlist Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz (32-1-1, 15ko) go on the verbal assault against each other.

Diaz defeated former WBA ‘Regular’ junior lightweight champion Javier Fortuna on July 10. Immediately after, he called out both Haney and former WBC Interim champion Ryan “KingRy” Garcia.

“Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, let’s go. Let’s make it happen, baby! All you pussy ass fighters, get in here and fight!”

That statement started an incredible back and forth between the WBC champion and Diaz, resulting in a verbal agreement for a November showdown. Well, things took an even uglier turn during another social media outburst between Haney and Diaz. ESPN reported that Garcia will return to the ring after a short hiatus due to mental illness, and it could be against Diaz. Jo Jo took to social media in agreement that a Garcia fight was not a bad idea.

“Fingers crossed I get him or Haney next.”

Here is where the Twitter fingers of the WBC champion went into hyperdrive. Haney has seen this movie before as KingRy did the same thing, opting out of cashing in on the mandatory title shot looking to fight Gervonta Davis and Manny Pacquiao.

“This will be the first time in history that you see two mandatories opp out to fight the champion!”

Of course, Jo Jo was not going to let this go unanswered and reminded The Dream of how he became a champion.

Haney quickly reminded Diaz of receiving a gift draw. Moreover, Diaz was overweight, which cost him the IBF junior lightweight title against Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov back on February 13.

Let’s hope this fight gets made as the fighters have already agreed to a bout in November.
