Joseph Diaz Jr disposes of Freddy Fonseca!

Former world title challenger Joseph Diaz Jr, moving up to the junior lightweight division, was facing tough fighter Freddy Fonseca.

Diaz, in the early rounds, took command of this fight. He wasted little time in showing the challenger this is a different level; landing vicious body shots followed by straight left-hand power shots.

In the middle rounds, the former title contender would open up the toolbox. He landed more debilitating body shots, followed by flurries of overhand lefts and uppercuts.

The sixth round was so bad that Fonseca’s corner warned that would stop the fight if he doesn’t show something.

Living up to their word, in the seventh round when Diaz turned it up even more, the challengers corner threw in the towel.

Diaz is the first to stop the challenger, making a statement that got all the champions’ attention in the junior lightweight division. After the fight, he made it clear he wants IBF champion Tevin Farmer.
