Eddie Hearn has confirmed a face to face meeting with Shelly Finkel will take place on Thursday to discuss Deontay Wilder vs Anthony Joshua.
Hearn as you know is in New York City as Matchroom Sport is hosting an event on Saturday night at the Barclays Center.
Hopefully, they can work something out or at least come up with a foundation where an agreement can be reached. Hearn made a $12.5 million flat fee offer to Wilder and his team. Both sides have been going back and forth through the media and on social media.
In the midst of negotiations, the WBC recently ordered Dillian Whyte vs Luis Ortiz to meet in a final eliminator. Also Dominic Breazeale (19-1,17KO’s) is another opponent in the running for a possible clash with the WBC champ. One has to wonder who will be next for Wilder?
The WBC stated Breazeale would be next in line as he beat Eric Molina in an eliminator back in November. Fans and pundits I’m sure are hoping that Wilder vs Joshua happens but if not, it looks like Breazeale may be next.
Wilder has been very vocal on wanting the Joshua fight but whether that happens is yet to be determined.
