  1. Of course anything can happen, its boxing, the theater of the unexpected. But at this stage in Ortiz’ career, I’m going to say probably not going to happen for the guy. All this is is Wilder, Haymon and the WBC finding a way to avoid Dillion Whyte, again. The guy has been the WBC mandatory for almost two years now and they just keep swerving the guy. Ortiz use to be a dangerous fighter, a feared fighter. Now he’s just a slow heavyweight with a good counter. If he’s fast enough to land it. Ortiz brings that fancy Cuban style to the ring, and typically I dont care for that amateur style in the pro’s. But at Heavyweight it has been pretty entertaining. Ortiz has generated some nice knock outs with those counter right hands. But again, his time has past. Sure he’s still a tough out, no cake walk. But he’s no Dillion Whyte. Whyte will continue to be avoided until someone upstairs forces the fight. I’m surprised the WBC hasn’t made Wilder the Legends champion like they did Canelo, so that way Wilder can basically fight whoever he wants. Then Whyte could’ve fought Ortiz for the WBC regular title and Wilder could’ve just skipped to Fury. Give it time, I’m sure the WBC will make that extra belt for Wilder. The President of the WBC really likes Al Haymon and he’ll do anything to keep Wilder on top. They basically did this same shit for Floyd. Floyd held that WBC 154 belt for two years with no title defense. Actually the only defense of that title was at a 152 catch weight vs Canelo. God Damn joke. What happen to the WBC? It use to be the most recognized title in boxing. Now I favor the IBF. At least they have rules. WBC and WBA have become a big joke. Makes me want to start my own boxing promotion. Everyone has to agree to random VADA testing, at least once a month, and you dont get to pick who you fight. You fight the next man in line, the guy that earned that title fight. In my boxing promotion Whyte is probably champion. Whyte and Ruiz. Wilder was probably knocked out a few years ago….sigh
