Ellie Scotney Calls Out Skye Nicolson After Victory Over Mea Motu
Unified super bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney (10-0) looked unbeatable in a successful title defense against challenger Mea “The Night” Motu (20-1, 8KO).
Scotney boxed very well behind the jab in the beginning rounds. She used movement and solid counterpunches to land quick combinations. Motu finally found a groove and landed several right hands. In addition, she cut off the ring good enough to land hard body shots.
The Night’s success didn’t last long as the unified champion took back control of the fight. Shifting from offense to defense, Scotney landed repeated right hands while avoiding any return fire.
Scotney’s timing, footwork, hand speed, and overall boxing ability were on full display. As Motu seemed to be slowing down, the unified champion found a home for those uppercuts.
As the fight ended, Scotney’s superior boxing ability was why all three judges scored it 99-91. Ready to collect more belts, she called for undisputed.
If a fight with one of the other champions can’t be made, Scotney is open to fighting WBC featherweight champion Skye Nicolson.
