Emiliano Moreno Easily Defeats Rashield Williams!
In a welterweight battle, prospect Emiliano Moreno (10-0, 5KO) dominated Rashield Williams (11-3, 9KO) with ease.
The contest started with Morena working behind an educated jab. He controlled the pace and distance with movement, defense, and solid countershots. Plus, the 19-year-old Californian used that youth to his advantage by throwing lots of punches early.
After weathering an early storm, Williams cranked up the offense by landing good shots between Morena’s punches. He started attacking the body, hoping to slow the Californian’s movement. Moreno quickly regained control of the fight behind that jab before moving around the ring. He couldn’t miss with those combination shots, taking advantage of his opponent’s lack of urgency.
The fight looked like a glorified sparring session as Moreno outboxed, outworked, and outsmarted Williams. When the final bell mercifully sounded, all three judges scored it 79-73 for Morena.
In what was supposed to have been a step-up fight, Moreno shined in the spotlight. This performance proved why some believe the young man is the goods.
