“Boots” Makes Easy Work of Bakhtiyar Eyubov in Four
Highly touted Philadelphia welterweight prospect Jaron “Boots” Ennis (25-0, 23 KOs) did whatever he wanted as he dominated Bakhtiyar Eyubov en route to a fourth-round stoppage at the Ocean Resort Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
“Boots” would open the bout with a sensational start. He dropped Eyubov with a series of punches culminated by a straight-left midway through the first round. A second knockdown soon followed and the 33-year-old Houston resident was lucky to survive the opening round.
A flashy and speedy switch-hitter with power to spare, Ennis used that skill and combinations to beat up Eyubov throughout the second and third rounds. Sensing he was the vastly superior fighter, the 22-year-old was lackadaisical in spots, letting Eyubov catch him with a couple of shots. However, he did not let this bother him as he had his way throughout.
In the fourth, a series of combinations from Ennis was enough for referee Albert Earl Brown to call it. He decided to stop matters 34-seconds into the round. To be fair, it was probably a quick stoppage as Eyubov was still fighting back, but he was not going to win this fight.
After the fight, Ennis said he’s ready to step up the competition. Boxing fans are ready for the Philly phenom to step it up as well, his talent is elite. It’s time for him to face more challenging opponents so we can see how good he truly is.
