From The Ford Center at the Star, in Frisco, the IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. put his title on the line against Carlos Ocampo.

It was a home coming for the champion, as he looked to put on a show for the home crowd.

Ocampo didn’t seem to let the moment get too big for him as he appeared to show a lot of confidence in the ring. He began by trading in punches with the champion, landing shots to the head and body. Spence remained poise welcoming the aggression of Ocampo.

Spence began to concentrate his attack to the body. Just as you began to think that maybe Ocampo will push Spence in the bout, the champion landed a body shot that floored Ocampo, with just seconds to go in the round.

Ocampo was unable to beat the count giving Spence a first round knockout victory. It was also the first time Ocampo had been dropped in his career. For Spence it was a quick night of work, as he showcased his power once again.

With the victory Errol Spence Jr remained unbeaten improving to 24-0 with 21 KO’s. For Ocampo (22-1,13KO’s) it was the first loss of his career. After the bout Spence said he wants the best in the division.
