Chris Eubank Jr eyes Jermall Charlo showdown in 2020!

Never lost for words or confidence IBO super middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr (28-2, 21KO) has turned his attention to unbeaten WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo (29-0, 21KO).

On December 7 both men will be back in action on the same card. Eubank Jr will be moving down a weight class and makes his U.S debut against the tough and talented veteran Matt Korobov in the co-main event. Meanwhile, Charlo will be making the second defense of his title when he battles junior middleweight Dennis Hogan in the Showtime main event.

Eubank Jr vs Korobov will be very pivotal in the next phase of their careers as they head into 2020 looking for a title opportunity. While supremely gifted physically, the British bruiser lacks the fundamentals and in-ring smarts to consistently compete and beat the upper echelon fighters.

With him returning to what he says is his natural weight, he feels he’ll fit in perfectly and make some major noise. He was clear on how he views himself and his skills compared to those of the WBC champion as he told Showtime analyst Steve Farhood in a ringside interview at a recent shobox telecast.

“I believe I’m a far superior fighter to that man and I’m sure I’ll be able to showcase my skills against him within the next six months.”

At 30 years old, it’s now or never for the younger Eubank to finally show he’s capable of stepping out of his legendary father’s shadow and forge a path of his own. It starts again on December 7 on Showtime in Brooklyn, New York.
