Eddie Hearn Aims to Make Farmer vs Diaz!
It appears as if we could finally see IBF junior lightweight champion Tevin Farmer (30-4-1, 6KO) face-off against Joseph Diaz (30-1, 15KO).
It’s expected that Farmer’s promoter, Eddie Hearn will send over an offer to Golden Boy in attempt to get the ball rolling. Likely, that deal would target a showdown for either later this year or early 2020.
Both Farmer and Diaz have history with each other, as the two men came face to face a few months ago in a verbal altercation. Diaz has also called out Farmer on social media to no avail.
However, with Tank Davis moving up to lightweight and the other 130 pound champions currently unavailable, this is the perfect time for these two men to settle their beef.
Diaz is coming off a hard-fought majority decision victory over Jesus Cuadro on September 21.
As for Farmer, he was last in the ring on July 27 where he made the fourth consecutive defense of his IBF title over Guillaume Frenois by unanimous decision.
If made, this has the chance to be an entertaining battle; Farmer, a slick defensive fighter vs Diaz, a pressure fighter. Hopefully it gets done.
3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
