Spencer Fearon Calls for Anthony Joshua and Lennox Lewis to Squash Beef
Former boxer and current manager and promoter, Spencer Fearon has called for a truce between Lennox Lewis and Anthony Joshua.
There has been tension for quite sometime now, as both guys have felt disrespected by one another in some form or fashion. Today seemed to be the final straw, as Joshua went directly at Lewis, whom he called a “clown” in an interview.
Enter Fearon, a guy who knows both men. He spoke openly on the issue in an interview with IFLTV. While being objective on the matter, it’s clear that he felt Joshua should’ve shown more respect towards Lewis.
“I love Anthony Joshua, but there’s certain things I wish certain people didn’t say. He shouldn’t have said Lennox Lewis
was a clown.”
He also went on to say that if Lewis was a clown, Muhammad Ali’s family wouldn’t have selected him to be a Paul Bearer at his funeral. He also pointed to the fact of what he perceived as a lack of respect for Lewis by Joshua to openly blast the former undisputed heavyweight champion.
At the end of day, both Lewis and Joshua should meet behind closed doors and hash out the hard feelings and move on. The UK fans, so far, seem to be split down the middle on who they support on this issue.
Let’s hope for a resolution sooner rather than later.
