Stephen Fulton Cruises to Win Over Arnold Khegai!

To open the SHOWTIME boxing telecast, Stephen “Cool Boy” Fulton (18-0, 8 KO’s) cruised to a very one-sided unanimous decision victory over Arnold “Arni” Khegai (16-1-1, 10 KO’s).

Right from the outset, Fulton’s nimble feet and fast jab would prove to be a tremendous problem for his opponent. As the rounds progressed, Arni was unable to mount any sort of consistent offense.

Over the twelve rounds, the only times he had any mentionable success was when Fulton willingly went to and lingered on the ropes.

Khegai also saw a good measure of success when working in and coming out of clinches. In fact, one of the only major critiques that can be levied against Fulton was his frequently initiating clinches when the two got too close.

Although, he did not grab and hold enough to really hamper the action or warrant a warning from referee Steve Willis.

As the rounds advanced, and Cool Boy piled on the points, Khegai would increasingly become frustrated and took to utilizing some dirty tactics.

As a result, Willis would have a number of side bars with Arni to check these actions. Along those lines, some of the more egregious fouls involved Khegai throwing Fulton to the canvas in the third period and blatantly hit him behind the head in the ninth.

Ultimately, however, there was nothing that Khegai could do with Stephen “Cool Boy” Fulton. The Philly native went on to win by scores of 116-112 and 117-11 x2.

3kingsboxing.com also scored the fight 116-112 in favor of the winner.

When the bout was over, Fulton said that he felt that he was in prime position for and wanted a shot at the WBO super bantamweight title currently held by the very dangerous Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete (30-1, 26 KO’s).
