Fury says that he wants Joshua next!

In his last outing, WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO world heavyweight champion Anthony “AJ” Joshua (24-1, 22 KO’s) successfully defended his belts. Outside of maintaining his straps, there were some significant implications for his fight. Eagerly awaiting the outcome were WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury (30-0-1, 21 KO’s) and Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KO’s).

Wilder is currently chasing his trilogy fight with Fury. The Gypsy King is over the matter and looking to fight just about anyone who is not Wilder. With that situation way up in the air, Fury’s co-promoter, Bob Arum, insisted that there was nothing to worry about.

If Joshua lost, he would already be committed to a rematch with Kubrat “The Cobra” Pulev (28-2, 14 KO’s). That would effectively clear the way for Fury v Wilder 3. Yet, if AJ prevailed, then he would unify with Fury. Now that AJ has skinned the Cobra by way of eleventh round knockout, the road is wide open for him clash with the Gypsy King next.

WHAT YOU GONNA DO NOW?

In the aftermath of Joshua’s victory, the WBC heavyweight champion wasted little time reinforcing his interest in the bout. Fury took to his social media, not only to call out AJ, but also clown him at the same time.

“Anthony Joshua just shit himself live on television! He got asked if he wanted the fight and he went around the bush and put his ass on the edge. I want the fight! I want the fight next! I’ll knock him out within three rounds! He’s a big bum doser, can’t wait to knock him out!”

It will be interesting to see what Joshua chooses to do for his next in ring battle. For years he has claimed that one of his biggest goals was to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. However, he did not find a way to make that happen when Wilder held the WBC title.

In fact, Joshua infamously turned down $50 million dollars to not face the Bronze Bomber. So, what will he do now that he is one dance with Fury away from becoming the undeniable king of the division? Guess we will just have to wait and see!
