Shakur Stevenson Defeats Toka Kahn Clary By Unanimous Decision
In what turned out to be little more than a glorified sparring session, former WBO World Featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson (15-0, 8 KOs) had his way with Toka Kahn Clary (29-3, 19 KOs) en route to an easy unanimous decision (100-90 x 3) in a ten-round junior lightweight contest at the MGM Grand Bubble in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Stevenson is as talented as they come. He showed his sharpness and power early as he stunned and knocked Clary back with a power jab in the opening round. The 23-year-old southpaw from Newark, New Jersey showed he was the boss from jump, fighting on the front foot behind the jabs and combinations through the first four rounds.

Stevenson continued the domination during the middle rounds. He piled up the points with jabs and body punches. Clary was durable, but was defensive. As early as round six, he had the look of a fighter whose sole mission was trying to go the distance.
As a result, the fight became a bit monotonous. It was more about Stevenson displaying his allotment of skills than a competitive contest. This was the definition of a one-sided affair.
Sensing he had to make the fight, the former 126-pound world title-holder started to amp up the intensity and his punch rate. The only question was whether Stevenson could muster the punches to score a stoppage. He seemed content to get in some good work as he was having fun displaying his vast array of skills.
A mandatory contender for the WBO World Junior Lightweight title, Stevenson stated after the fight he wanted the winner of the upcoming fight between WBO 130-pound world champ Jamel Herring (22-2, 10 KOs) and Carl Frampton (28-2, 16 KOs). He also declared he wants to face WBC World Junior Lightweight champion Miguel Berchelt (37-1, 33 KOs).
