Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis trade shots on social media
Golden Boy Promotions prize prospect Ryan “Kingry” Garcia (20-0, 17ko) isn’t taking his foot off the gas when it comes to antagonizing WBA “regular” lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (23-0, 22ko).
Kingry has made it clear on several occasions of wanting to fight the Baltimore power-puncher in the past. Now, it looks like the smiling kid from California is keeping good on his word. Furthermore, the social media feud between the two rivals has been taken to new heights!
THE BACKSTORY
In 2019, Garcia, the future of Golden Boy Promotions, expressed wanting to fight Tank when he was in the audience watching then-WBA “super” junior lightweight champion Davis fight replacement fighter Hugo Ruiz. Immediately following the fight is when the aforementioned prospect must have seen something that made him feel confident in publicly saying he would beat the Baltimore champion.
Now, as time has passed, there have been numerous intense exchanges on social media between these two fighters. Some of them were amusing, like when Garcia made a hilarious spoof video of the WBA “regular” champion being overweight and having frightful visions of his left hook.
Davis wasn’t amused at all and delivered a harsh statement threatening to lay hands on the top prospect from California. However, Garcia wasn’t going to back down and exchanged words with Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe.
LET’S SOLVE THIS IN THE RING
Fast forward to now and it appears someone left the oven on.
Garcia took to social media, yet again stirring the pot! He tweeted out a playful message to his rival champion and, of course, there was a response. However, the undefeated prospect, knowing about the troubles between Davis and his promoter Floyd Mayweather involving WBC champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (24-0, 15ko), dropped a savage reply.
