Danny Garcia has zero problems against Ivan Redkach!

Putting on a workman-like performance, Danny Garcia (36-2, 21 KOs) coasted to an easy unanimous decision win (118-110, 117-111 twice) over the overmatched Ivan Redkach (23-5-1, 18 KOs) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Garcia is a true professional who likes to fight at a slow pace. He used the first three rounds to decipher Redkach, landing jabs and sharp combinations to the head and body.

The high boxing IQ fighter from Philadelphia opted for a very economical approach, initially. He was excellent at landing effectively while neutralizing the attack from the Los Angeles-based Ukrainian.

In the middle rounds, Garcia continued to pretty much have his way. This was far from the most exciting fight. However, the former 2-division world champion was dominant, landing repeatedly with head and body shots.

Redkach gained a cut over his left eye in round seven. Still, he would continue fighting hard. Having fought most of his career at lightweight/super lightweight, he was just too small to trouble the Philly fighter.

In a weird moment that went unnoticed by referee Benjy Esteves in round eight, he went Mike Tyson and bit Garcia on the left shoulder!

Knowing that the victory was in hand, Garcia let his foot off the gas during the last three rounds. You would have like to have seen him try for the knockout against a guy who has previously been knocked down four times in his career, but this fight was in the bag.

Afterwards, Garcia acknowledged he was not at his best, admitting he had to lose a lot of weight (25lbs) before the bout.

When asked who he would like to fight next, he said he would love to fight WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, IBF/WBC welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr., or even a rematch against Keith Thurman.
