Mikey Garcia headed to DAZN?
Mikey Garcia (39-1, 30KOs), a four-division world champion, has been hotly pursued by Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing and DAZN. However the U.K. based promoter has been unsuccessful in luring in Garcia.
However, reports have surfaced that a deal has been reportedly agreed to between the parties of Mikey Garcia and Eddie Hearn for a one fight deal, with an option of a second fight. Neither Garcia nor Hearn have came out and confirmed or denied the reports. However, Eddie Hearn did tease a huge announcement for Sunday December 15, 2019 on his social media.
If a deal is indeed done, Garcia could be facing former two-division world champion Jessie Vargas (29-2-2, 11KOs) on DAZN. Vargas is 1-for-3 in his last three outings. He had back-to-back draws against former champion Adrien Broner and Thomas Dulorme. Then, on April 26, 2019, he would return to his winning ways with a sixth round knockout over former world champion Humberto Soto (69-10-2, 37KOs).
With this move, Garcia may just have his eyes set on a potential match-up with unified junior welterweight champion Josh Taylor (16-0, 12KOs).
