Ryan Garcia is Back to Wanting to Fight Gervonta Davis
In boxing, the winner hardly ever gets to enjoy the spoils of victory before another challenger comes knocking at the door. Three-divisional champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (26-0, 24ko) heard the final bell of the fight for only the second time against tough-as-nails Mexican fighter Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz (22-2-1, 15ko).
However, Ryan “King Ry” Garcia (21-0, 18ko) quickly took to social media looking to rekindle the flames of their rivalry.
THE CHASE
Garcia, once upon a time, was hot on the heels of Davis. He took shots at the current WBA “regular” lightweight champion as often as possible. There was the time he put on a fake pot belly, poking fun at Tank. Later, he went hard on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin, claiming he would knock out Davis in two rounds.
“I’ll knock him out in two rounds, maybe less.”

Garcia put those Twitter fingers to work by going after Davis for a domestic incident video that went viral all over social media.
“You’re all over the place bruh, we all seen the incident you’ll never be able to put your hands on me like that. THAT’S SOME BITCH SHIT SMH DO BETTER.”

Davis had finally had enough and accepted the challenge to fight Garcia.
“When I ever been a bitch?!… The fight already been made…now…shut up and get ready!”

THE DEPARTURE
Ryan Garcia would shift gears away from the Davis and reveal that an opportunity to fight Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao was next on the horizon instead. The fight never materialized, and after that, it was a downward spiral for Garcia. He was supposed to Javier Fortuna in a pointless title eliminator considering he had defeated Luke Campbell prior for the mandatory position for the WBC interim lightweight title. However, he pulled out of the fight to take some time off to deal with mental depression.
After getting back on track, he returned to the sport and was slated to face then mandatory challenger Joseph “Jo Jo” Diaz. Once again, Garcia pulled out due to an injury, for which Diaz viciously attacked him.
“Ryan Garcia is a bitch.”

THE COMMENT THAT KICKED IT OFF
Garcia appears to be fully healed and ready to return to the ring. The only thing missing is an opponent. As opportunity would have it, the door could be open for the Davis fight again. While sitting at home watching Davis defeat Cruz, what was said in the post-fight interview made him hot under the collar.
“All them guys is easy work. Easy work, man, easy work.”

This turned the mild-mannered Garcia into the Twitter Hulk, as he swiftly took to social media to respond.
Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya chimed in to show support for his fighter.
“@RyanGarcia you will destroy him!”

Davis was not about to let this go without responding to both, Garcia and De La Hoya.
“I’ll beat the both of y’all asses.”
