Two-divisional champion Devin “The Dream” Haney’s shocking defeat against “King” Ryan Garcia in 2024, remains a hot topic with fans. Despite King testing positive for a banned substance, The Dream kept getting hit by the same left hook repeatedly. During the build-up to the fight Haney called his arch-rival a one-trick pony and failed to nullify the trick. What makes his performance even worse was the fact many pundits placed Haney on the pound-for-pound list.
With the possibility of a rematch on the horizon, some believe the outcome will be the same. This is a sentiment that Garcia believes also claiming PED’s had nothing to do with Haney’s inability to block the left hook. Furthermore, Haney’s mental state has come under fire for filing a lawsuit and stepping away from the sport since the fight. In addition, some inside the boxing community wonder if he will get pass former champion Jose Ramirez on May 2.
