Devin Haney Names Lopez, Davis, Garcia, and Lomachenko on his Duck List
WBC lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (27-0, 15KOs) has been wanting to prove that he is the best lightweight in the division. The Dream has not been shy about calling out the other top lightweights of the division, albeit with no takers.

Haney has a history of calling out the top guys of his division and has been very vocal about them ducking him for years. In 2019, Haney went after former unified champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomchenko for asking to be elevated to franchise champion instead of fighting him.
He then took to social media calling out three-divisional champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis for a fight. This would quickly escalate with both fighters trading shots over social media. However, their public back-and-forth has not turned into them settling the beef in the ring.
Of course, nobody can forget the constant calling out of Ryan Garcia by The Dream. One time the WBC champion and father Bill Haney cornered Golden Boy executive Bernard Hopkins to make the fight. Fans thought the fight would finally happen when Garcia captured the WBC Interim title. Yet, he quickly turned away from Haney and began focusing on fighting Davis.
Then there was arch-rival former unified champion Teofimo Lopez. The tension between these two turned ugly and played out on social media for all the boxing community to witness. Haney took to social media to vent his frustration claiming that both Lopez and Garcia have a lot to say but won’t fight him.
NAMING THE NAMES THAT DUCKED
During the promotion of his upcoming fight with unified champion George “Ferocious” Kambosos Jr (20-0, 10Kos), Haney spoke with ESPN sports analyst Stephen A. Smith. He gave the main reason why the other top guys have not been eager to fight him.
“I think I am the best fighter in the division. I know that I am the best fighter in the division, and that’s why they’ve been ducking me for so long […] if I was an easy fight, it would be a line around the corner of guys wanting to fight me, but it’s not. No matter who it is, I done called them out and they didn’t want to fight.”
When asked to be specific on who he believes has ducked him, Haney quickly dropped names with ease.
“Teo (Teofimo Lopez) ducked me, and he ducked himself into a loss. Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia, and Lomachenko. That’s actually how I got the belt because Lomachenko petitioned to get the franchise title […] whether they like it or not, it’s the truth.”
