Top Rank wins Maurice Hooker vs Alex Saucedo purse bid
Newly crowned WBO junior welterweight champion Maurice Hooker will soon make his first title defense. His opponent will be mandatory challenger Alex Saucedo. The fight will take place in the challenger’s backyard in Oklahoma City.
Top Rank won the purse bid by outbidding Eddie Hearn 1.625 million dollars to 1.555 million dollars.
This fight will be boxing’s version of the red rivalry shootout as the champion hails from Texas and Saucedo being from Oklahoma.
It should be a good fight between two undefeated fighters; both trying to further prove themselves in a crowded junior welterweight division.
