Richardson Hitchins Plans to Give Liam Paro a Makeover!
Throughout their pre-fight build-up, IBF super lightweight champion Liam Paro (25-0, 15 KO’s) and Richardson Hitchins (18-0, 7 KO’s) have shown one another ample respect. Paro will make the first defense of his belt on December 7. The duel will stand as Hitchins’ first attempt at a world title. Even with this cordial nature, there have been moments of testiness. Now, in the ninth hour, Hitchins is dealing in threats.
“A lot of fighters, they just hate when they are in a real boxing fight. They get their records built up, they fight the Brock Jarvis’s . . . Yomar Alamo, Steve Gago, all these guys in Australia, build their career and now they signed with guys like [me] and its like, ‘fuck, I got to fight!'”
“You won’t look the same Saturday!”
The battle will be an interesting clash of styles and revealing litmus test. Paro is fresh off his upset win over the once-feared Subriel Matias. To make the stunning win even more impressive, the Australian fighter bested Matias in his own Puerto Rican backyard. Conversely, Hitchins is coming off a somewhat controversial win over Gustavo Lemos.
It’s controversial because some people saw a dominant one-sided win for Hitchins, while others saw him struggle to eke out a victory. This scribe is among the latter group. Therefore, this new prizefight with Paro is the perfect time to get some redemption for himself. So let’s see what these two pugilists do come fight night!
