Evander Holyfield feels Mike Tyson rematch is close!
Former two-division world champion and future Hall Of Famer Evander “The Real Deal” Holyfield (44-10-2, 29KOs) continues to talk up a potential third fight with former undisputed heavyweight champion and Hall Of Famer “Iron” Mike Tyson. The two men have a storied history that includes Tyson biting a piece Holyfield’s ear off in their June 1997 rematch. Since that incident, both men have become good friends.
Although the two men now have a friendship, that has not stopped Holyfield from calling out Tyson to an exhibition fight. This all stems from Tyson facing off with Roy Jones Jr in November off 2020. That exhibition produced huge numbers, reminding everyone of just how popular Tyson still is to this day. The interest is mutual as Tyson has mentioned the Atlanta, Georgia native as well.

So will this exhibition fight actually happen? Holyfield told Brian Custer the following on The Last Stand Podcast:
“I would say yes. I think that it’s close, it’s something we both want to do and I think it could happen.”
Even past their primes, these two men would garner a lot of attention. The sport of boxing is unpredictable, as is Mike Tyson. So you never know what you are going to get with him. With the casual fandom so high, these two legendary figures will surely pull in a nice amount of revenue.
3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
