Hooker and Saucedo to begin negotiations.
Previously, 3kingsboxing.com reported that a mandated bout between WBO junior welterweight champion Maurice Hooker and Alex Saucedo was possible.
It looks like that possibility has come to fruition.
This is something that has been expected since the champion withdrew his name from the WBSS.
A letter from WBO Chairman Luis Batista Salas has given Hooker (24-0-4, 16 KOs) and Saucedo (28-0, 18 KOs) a twenty-day window to reach an agreement.
The minimum bid is set to $150,000. If Matchroom (promoter for Hooker) and Top Rank (promoter for Saucedo) cannot come to terms, a purse bid will be ordered.
3kingsboxing.com will keep you updated on any further developments.
