Kazuto Ioka vs Jeyvier Cintron: We Have a Fight!
WBO junior bantamweight champion Kazuto Ioka (24-2, 14KO) will be making his first defense of the title against undefeated Puerto Rican and mandatory challenger Jeyvier Cintron (11-0, 5KO).
Ioka stepped on the scale at the 115lbs limit while his counterpart, Cintron, was a lighter weight at 114.8lbs.
The champion has undeniable power, ring experience and the home crowd advantage going into this fight. The four-divisional champion has shared the ring with some of boxing’s top names, accumulating one of the sport’s best resumes.
Cintron has a noticeable height and reach advantage. He’ll be looking to make a huge splash in both, the division and the sport of boxing as well. He earned this huge opportunity with a victory over former title contender and veteran Japanese fighter Koki Eto.
The 24 year-old’s first encounter with Eto ended in controversy before being ruled a no-decision. However, in the rematch, he won a WBO eliminator in emphatic fashion, leading to the current title opportunity.
This is the classic tale of a great fighting champion versus a young hungry challenger and it has the makings of a jaw-dropping fight. These two participants are ready to throw hands and bring in the New Year with fireworks before the midnight countdown at the Ota-City General Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan, on December 31.
