Jack Massey Decisions Isaac Chamberlain to Claim His Titles
In a cruiserweight showdown, Jack “One Smack” Massey (22-2, 12KO) grabbed the Commonwealth and EBU titles away from Isaac “IC” Chamberlain (16-3, 8KO).
In the early going of the fight, One Smack’s jab and combination punches were causing problems for IC. He even began finding a home for the counter righthand and continued to crank that jab.
Yet, Chamberlain started having success going to the body and landing the overhand right. He did better fighting off the front foot, trying to pressure Massey into the corner looking to land some hard shots.
In the middle rounds, Massey continued to control the distance of the fight with the jab. In addition, he couldn’t miss the counter righthand as IC’s head remained on the centerline. Yet, Chamberlain turned things around with hard body shots and combination punches that hurt One Smack several times.
Down the stretch, Massey pulled away by landing short, crisp shots. He used the ring to create space before landing the more accurate, eye-catching shots. When the scorecards were tallied, two judges saw it 115-113, and one had it 116-112, in favor of Massey.
