Isaac Cruz Digs Deep For The Victory Over Angel Fierro
Super lightweight fighter Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz (27-3-1, 18 KO’s) began the year in exciting fashion by defeating a game Angel “Tashiro” Fierro (23-3-2, 18 KO’s) by way of unanimous. It was a solid showing given it was Cruz’s first duel since last losing to Jose Valenzuela in 2024.
Right from the clang of the opening bell these two tore into one another without care or concern. The smaller Cruz enjoyed success getting on the inside and ripping heavy hooks to the head and body. The near constant shots moved Fierro’s frame and regularly whipped his head around.
Despite the abuse, minus one or two brief moments Tashiro ate the shots well. Aside from a temporary instance in the third, Pitbull managed to navigate the fight without getting overly hurt. Nevertheless, during the second half of the match he began to slow notably. This allowed Fierro to increase his offense which resulted in a number of sequences of the fighters wailing away center ring.
During the final round Cruz looked particularly worn but closed the duel trading shots. After the high octane match went to the cards Cruz prevailed by way of unanimous decision to the tune of 96-94, 97-93 and 98-92
