Daniel Jacobs Would Love to Fight “Weasel” Gabe Rosado
Like most of the world presently confined to lockdown as a result of COVID-19, former middleweight champion Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs (36-3, 30 KO’s) has a great deal of excess time on his hands.
With this being the case, Jacobs took the time to go live on his social media account along with his promoter Eddie Hearn. During the fairly brief interaction, the two men discussed a wide range of boxing topics.
GABE ROSADO BEEF
While Jacobs was meticulous about being respectful when talking about the belt holders at 168, one fighter that he dropped his good manners for was “King” Gabriel Rosado (25-12-1, 14 KO’s).
According to Jacobs, in an effort to obtain a fight with the Miracle Man, Rosado has efficiently made a pest of himself.
In fact, he has become such an annoyance to Jacobs that the Miracle Man says that a fight with King Rosado would be far more of a personal goal than a professional landmark.
“But as far as right now, there is this little, little weasel that is in my little spine that I can’t get out and his name is Gabe Rosado! He’s been annoying the hell out of me! Lord have mercy this guy!
“…I think it’s a little envy and it’s a little jealousy you know? I remember him saying something as far as when I was commentating saying I’m trying to be a fake Andre Ward.
“But I’m a versatile man, I can do things and I think that because he is a gatekeeper, I think it doesn’t sit well with him.
“Because we all came up together, you know and for me to surpass him, the way that I am and the way that his career has gone, he has to go other routes to get a fight. But sometimes there’s a personal fight that you want to be able to get out and it’s going to make a good fight as well.
“So for me, I’m just looking at this fight like lamb chops right now ‘cause he is food.”
A fight pitting Jacobs against any of the 168lbs belt holders would be good, yet due to the personal aspect of the fight a bout with Jacobs versus Rosado would be amongst the most personal and entertaining.
Let’s just see who the Miracle Man can lock down first.
