Jennings picks up unanimous decision over Dawejko
From the Liacouras Center, in Philadelphia, PA heavyweight contender and former world title challenger Bryant Jennings (23-2, 13KOs) took on Joey Dawejko (19-5-4, 11 KOs).
Both guys came out to start the fight fairly cautious, trying to establish their jabs. Very little action occurred during the opening round.
In the second round both guys opened up, especially with their jabs, Jennings who had a fourteen inch reach advantage was trying to establish distance. Dawejko was shooting the jab to the body trying to set up his right hand.
Round three saw a big jump in action as it turned into a inside fight with both guys exchanging body and head shots. It appeared that Dawejko got the best of Jennings in round three.
In rounds four through seven we saw decent action with Jennings starting to open up more with uppercuts that rocked the head back of Dawejko on numerous occasions.
Jennings continued to pull away in the final three rounds appearing to hurt Dawejko in rounds nine and ten. Jennings would go on to win by unanimous decision with all three cards reading 98-92.
