Joe Joyce Makes Quick Work Of Michael Wallisch

The Juggernaut Joe Joyce (11-0, 10KO) returns in his 2020 debut in a fight that is expected to be a tune up before a huge all-British showdown against rival and fellow undefeated heavyweight Daniel Dubois (14-0, 13KO).

German Michael Wallisch (20-4, 13KO) steps up to the challenge and gets chopped down just as quick!

EASY WORK

Besides the noticeable weight Joyce gained while on lock-down, the first round was a testament to the rust Joyce needed to shake off. He would eat a boat-load of right hands throughout the round. Although he is definitely not known for his defense, it is painful to think how he would last if those right-hands came from Dubois!

Nevertheless, what Joyce is known for is his volume, stamina and power. He puts together punches as a heavyweight as if he were a lightweight in terms of how many he throws per round. All he needed was one round to remember what he is about and at the start of the second, it was over for Wallisch.

After stalking his opponent, a big right hand to the body starts a devastating flurry. The shots put the German down to one knee. He recovers, however, is no match at all throughout the rest of the round.

Wallisch would last one more round…hardly. Another series of shots to the body sent him to the canvas two more times as he could not replicate the success he had in the first round. The referee stops the fight almost as quick as the round started.

This was a very predictable knockout win. Although, that first round may have told a telling story. If Joyce is not in the best shape before facing Dubois, that fight can end extremely early!

LETS GET IT ON

While Joyce did his signature celebration, Dubois watched from home eager to get his hands on the winner. The came together in the post-fight interview where both men claimed they could not wait to “get it on!”

Dubois will also have a tougher match-up August 29. His opponent is German undefeated former Olympian Erik Pfeifer. If he wins, all indications from promoter Frank Warren is the two will meet sometime later this year or early 2021.
