WBC super lightweight champion to make his first defense in front of hometown
WBC junior welterweight champion Jose Ramirez is expected to return to the ring July 7th in what would be a homecoming bout in his hometown of Fresno, California.
Ramirez was supposed to fight WBC interim junior welterweight champion Regis Prograis, but after two cancelled purse bids between the two, and the news that Prograis is likely to participate in the WBSS 140 pound tournament, the champion is moving on.
There’s no definite answer on who Ramirez’s opponent will be, although 3kingsboxing.com has learned that Danny O’Connor (30-3, 11KOs) is a possible option.
