Joe Joyce to fight on Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury undercard.
2016 Olympic Silver medalist Joe Joyce made a very successful American debut, knocking out Iago Kiladze on September 30. He managed knocking him down three times en route to a fifth-round TKO victory.
Afterwards, his promoter Richard Schaefer confirmed that the heavyweight would return December 1.
He didn’t, however, go into detail on who his potential opponent would be. Rumors are circulating that Gerald Washington could be next. If that is indeed true, it would be a good step-up fight.
Washington is a former world title challenger; losing to WBC champion Deontay Wilder. He’s also been in the ring with heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller.
At 32 years-old Joyce (6-0, 6KOs) is clearly on the fast track to a world title opportunity.
