Justin Pauldo Scores Impressive Stoppage Against Rakhimov
In a lightweight battle, Justin “The Million Dollar Man” Pauldo (18-2, 9KO) ran over one-time IBF junior welterweight champion Shavkatdzhon “Shere Khan” Rakhimov (17-2-1, 14KO).
The Million Dollar Man looked worthy of that nickname early, as he landed repeated right hands while fighting behind the jab. After scoring a knockdown in the opening round, Pauldo landed a hard body shot that momentarily stunned Rakhimov.
As the fight continued, Pauldo continued to hit Shere Khan with the right hand at will. Even when Rakhimov landed a solid punch, Pauldo would quickly land repeated body shots and right-hand counters. This fight was beginning to feel like a stoppage wasn’t too far away from happening.
Rakhimov hasn’t fought since 2023, and it showed that his timing, defense, and skillset looked poor. It was target practice for Pauldo who outclassed the former IBF junior lightweight champion.
In round eight, Pauldo landed a three-punch combination that put Rakhimov on the canvas. The referee stopped the fight after the corner threw in the towel. Pauldo will most definitely land within the top fifteen by the governing sanctioning bodies after this victory.
