Egidijus Kavaliauskas vs Mikael Zewski is On!
Former title challenger Egidijus “Mean Machine” Kavaliauskas (21-1-1, 17KO) returns in his first fight since losing to WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford in December 2019. He will headline a Top Rank on ESPN+ card against once defeated Canadian Mikael Zewski (34-1, 23KO). Both Men will be making their 2020 debuts.
Kavaliauskas is currently ranked #7 and #13 by the WBC and WBO respectively at welterweight. The loss to Crawford dropped him twelve positions in the WBO rankings and he will be looking to climb his way back to the top.
Zewski is the lesser known fighter as this will be his first fight in the states in close to five years! Nevertheless, he is ranked higher in more sanctioning bodies as he takes the #7 spot with both the WBO and IBF. He is also ranked #13 by the WBC.
