Kieron Conway Wins 2 Judges to Decision Ryan Kelly
Following twelve rounds of action, middleweight fighter Kieron Conway (22-3-1, 6 KO’s) defeated Ryan Kelly (19-5-1, 8 KO’s) by way of split decision.
While the action remained steady throughout the bout, there was not a great deal of sustained or overtly memorable action. With this said, both men turned in workman performances, working behind the jab while not taking any undue risks.
Of the two, Conway frequently led the action and routinely dug to the body with thudding shots. His busier hands did an excellent job keeping Kelly off balance and with his hands in his pockets. For his part, Kelly did well boxing, yet he simply was not active enough to sway the decision of a majority of the judges. Conway prevailed by way of split decision with the scores of 115-114 for Kelly, and 116-112 and 115-113 for Conway.
