Errol Spence vs Maurice Lee?
Everyone is eagerly awaiting for boxing to resume, currently on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Also eagerly and highly anticipated is the return of unified welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr (26-0, 21KOs).
Spence hasn’t fought since September of 2019 where he won a thrilling split decision over Shawn “Showtime” Porter (30-3-1, 17KOs) to unify the IBF and WBC welterweight titles. Less than a month later, Spence would be involved in a single-car accident.
Promising a ring-return in the summer, could the unified champion already have his opponent lined up?
According to Mayweather Promotions’ fighter Maurice “Ambitious” Lee (12-1-2, 5KOs), he’s the guy that will get the first shot at the new unified champion.
He spoke about it in a live stream on social media.
“God is so good, I have some great news. You know, Errol Spence, you gon’ get exactly what you asked for n*gga. I’m about to dog you like you stole something you bitch ass n*gga.

Lee isn’t a well-known commodity in boxing, but being under the Mayweather banner provides you with opportunities you may not encounter elsewhere. This is especially the case for Lee.
The California native last fought in September of 2019 where he defeated Dakota Linger (12-3-2, 8KOs) by way of a majority decision.
Obviously, this would be by far the biggest fight in Lee’s career, with two belts on the line. Adversely, this would seem to be nothing more than a tune-up fight for Spence.
But with him coming off such a horrendous accident, this fight could turn out to be more than a tune-up.
