Lee McGregor Defeats Isaac Lowe by Unanimous Decision
Following a fairly competitive prizefight, super featherweight fighter Lee “Lightning” McGregor (15-1-1, 11 KO’s) defeated Isaac “Westgate” Lowe (25-3-3, 8 KO’s) by way of unanimous decision. By and large, Lowe was the man coming forward while McGregor operated comfortably off his back foot. While adhering to this format, their arsenals and punch selection were similar as each routinely touched the body and tossed heavy hooks with gusto.
Of the two however, McGregor separated himself with his jab that often stifled Lowe’s offensive progress. He also held the monopoly on visually cleaner shots. The rough and tumble fight saw a number of headbutts, one of which cut Lowe’s left eye. Despite remaining in command for a good measure of the duel, the pace and damage appeared to begin catching up to Lightning in the ninth.
Yet, just as McGregor began slowing a, headbutt opened up a fresh cut over Lowe’s right eye It should also be noted that Lowe was deducted points for losing his mouth guard even though it did not appear purposeful. Following the clang of the final bell, McGregor predictably prevailed by way of unanimous decision to the tune of 96-92 and 97-91 (twice).
