David Lemieux to face Tureano Johnson on Canelo-Fielding under-card
3kingsboxing.com has learned that former IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux is likely to face contender Tureano Johnson on the undercard of the Canelo-Fielding event.
Lemieux is one of the hardest punchers in boxing. His round one knock out of Spike O’Sullivan back in September is recent evidence of this claim. A win for him against Johnson could put him in line for a title shot. Also, he ranks in the top ten of all four sanctioning body organizations.
Johnson (20-2, 14 KOs) hasn’t fought since being stopped in the twelfth round against Sergiy Derevyanchenko in August of 2017. Johnson is 0-2 in fights you would consider step ups; losing by knockout. Curtis Stevens stooped him in the last round of their 2014 fight after being dominated for the majority of the bout.
Nonetheless this fight between these two guys should be entertaining for however long it lasts.
