Campbell vs Crolla is aimed for April
3KingsBoxing.com has learned that promoter Eddie Hearn is currently trying to finish up a deal for Luke Campbell, 17-2, to face former WBA lightweight champion Anthony Crolla. Hearn said the date he is aiming for is April 14th but didn’t mention a venue.
Campbell is coming off of a controversial split decision loss to Jorge Linares back in September. Originally there was talk of a rematch with Linares but the negotiations fell apart and Linares is fighting Mercito Gesta next weekend.
Crolla, 32-6-3, squared off against former three division world champion Ricky Burns In October. Crolla was able to win a fairly comfortable unanimous decision over Burns after suffering back to back losses to Linares.
An official announcement on the bout is expected to come at anytime according to Hearn.
