Campbell vs Yordan?
This past September UK lightweight Luke Campbell put himself on the radar of fight fans everywhere in a losing effort against WBA champion Jorge Linares. Campbell lost a split-decision that some observers felt he won.
Initially there was talk of a rematch between the two but the negotiations fell apart. Linares of course is fighting Mercito Gesta next. Campbell on the other hand hasn’t been mentioned with a potential opponent until now.
3KingsBoxing.com has learned that Campbell and his team are currently trying to secure a fight against former world title challenger Daud Yordan.
While Yordan’s name may not be recognizable to some he has been in the ring with some very legitimate opposition. He fought Robert Guerrero in 2009 in which he appeared to hurt “The Ghost” in a fight the ended up being a no contest.
Yordan has won seven fights in a row since he lost to former world champion Simpiwe Vetyeka in April of 2013. He also faced longtime champion Chris John back in 2011.
