Franchon Crews-Dezurn and Savannah Marshall Get Heated at Final Presser!
On July 1, undisputed super middleweight champion “The Heavy Hitting Diva” Franchon Crews-Dezurn (8-1, 2KO) and former WBO middleweight champion Savannah “Silent Assassin” Marshall (12-1, 10KO) will collide. As the fight date approaches, both fighters turned up the heat on the verbal attacks in the final press conference.
In a previous press conference, Silent Assassin accused the undisputed champion of being a longtime dirty fighter. Furthermore, she made it clear that Crews-Dezurn was going to leave the fight empty-handed.
THEY SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST
That was only a glimpse of things to come, as the gloves came off in the final presser on Sky Sports Boxing. The undisputed champion went after Marshall for being complacent, which resulted in her sole defeat to three-time undisputed champion Claressa Shields.
“I’m not like her. Unfortunately, she got a defeat because she underestimated. That’s what happens when you get content. That’s what happens when you think everything is going to be given to you . . . you let somebody come and take something that you thought was yours because you got complacent.”
Franchon Crews-Dezurn, undisputed champion
When the conversation shifted to when both fighters were in the same division, Marshall went after Crews-Dezurn for not wanting to fight mandatory challenger Shadasia Green.
“The difference between me and you is you sit about on your lazy ass waiting for opportunities . . . I was in super middle, you didn’t entertain me. You didn’t give me a shot, you didn’t want to know . . . same with Shadasia Green. She sat as your mandatory for over a year, and you don’t want to know.”
This author is even more eager to see both women settle it in the ring after witnessing the excellent job they did in selling the fight.
