Savannah Marshall is Going for the Title
Social media is officially the announcement platform for fighters getting into beef and to broadcast news about their next possible move.
Super middleweight contender Savannah “Silent Assassin” Marshall (8-0, 6ko), is the only female boxer to have ever defeated the self-proclaimed G.W.O.A.T (Greatest Woman Of All Time) and undisputed middleweight champion Claressa “T-Rex” Shields (10-0, 2ko). Recently, the 28-year-old British boxer was entangled in a small beef with former IBO titlist Hannah Rankin (9-4, 2ko). Rankin would later announce they can take it to the ring.
By now we all realize if you ever tag British Promoter Eddie Hearn in a tweet, especially about fighting one of his boxers on the DAZN platform, and there is money involved, you will get an immediate answer. Just ask Adrien Broner. Seeing this as an opportunity to announce possibly big news, the DAZN/Matchroom Boxing Promoter would explain why a fight with the former IBO titlist is off the table.
This is big news for the Silent Assassin. Although, when looking at the ranking system, it isn’t that hard to figure out that this was inevitable.
There hasn’t been an official announcement as to what title she will be fighting for. We know the situation surrounding unified champion Alejandra Jimenez is still pending under investigation. Therefore, the only logical option would be unified champion Elin Cederroos (8-0, 4ko).
