Once again, social media is burning up with another beef between two fighters. This time it hits pretty close to home for former four-division champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner (33-4-1, 24KO) and WBC lightweight champion in recess Devin “The Dream” Haney (24-0, 15KO).

Oddly enough, there is a third party that seems to have gotten caught up in this; retired pound for pound fighter Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

HOW DID WE GET HERE

Haney took to Instagram and posted himself with the retired TMT promoter cycling in Miami. However, that wasn’t the cause. It was his next post that was the first match thrown on the charcoal.

Okay, so this is where you need to take a seat because things are about to take off! Broner wasn’t going to take this and be quiet. If you thought that, then you don’t know “AB.” The flamboyant, “brush-my-hair” boxer quickly responded.

Then the plot thickens. British promoter Eddie Hearn got in on the act. Seeing the smoke, he added gas to fuel the fire by posting what looks to be a DM from Broner, along with a serious jab about him not being able to make the proposed weight.

Haney wasted little time and quickly pointed out how it seemed the four-division champion was already pricing himself out.

WILL THEY FIGHT?

Now if there is anything you can say about Broner, is that he will fight anybody. However, he hasn’t been in the ring since being defeated by Manny Pacquiao in January 2019. There is no telling what kind of condition he is in and given his past, it is safe to assume that “AB” is nowhere near in fight shape.

Furthermore, the WBC champion in recess is out recovering from shoulder surgery and has vowed to return even better than before. Moreover, there hasn’t been anything indicating an expected return.

As always, these kinds of things are good for getting the boxing community buzzing and creating serious noise for the sport and hopefully, something will come from all this.

3kingsboxing will monitor this situation and continue providing any updates.
