Mikeala Mayer calls out Harper and Brodnicka
Rising female super featherweight Mikeala Mayer (13-0, 5ko) has been making noise since stepping into the professional ranks.
CHASING THE CHAMPION
The former 2016 Olympian wants to get her hands on the WBC champion Terri “Belter” Harper (10-0-1, 5ko). Things even got heated on social media in a war of words with the WBC champion’s trainer.
Mayer ended the argument with a mic-dropping statement.
The Top Rank female fighter had a small detour in her career. When boxing returned, the former Olympian tested positive for COVID-19. Doing the smart thing, she quickly isolated herself and immediately returned to the ring with a victory over former title contender Helen “Iron Lady” Joseph (17-5-2, 10ko).
FINALLY A TITLE SHOT
Eventually, the former Olympian received a deserving championship opportunity. However, it would come against WBO champion Ewa “Kleo” Brodnicka (18-0, 2ko). When the organization ordered the fight, she took to social media for the entire boxing community to be made aware. If the former Olympian is victorious, undoubtedly she won’t hesitate to call for a unification match-up with the WBC champion.
Pump the brakes, let’s not overlook the WBO champion, who will be making a sixth title defense. While we wait for the official announcement, it does seem to a little quiet from Team Brodnicka, and Mayer has noticed that as well. Never shy of speaking out ,especially when it comes to getting in the ring, Mayer took to social media looking for the champion.
