Delusional Fans Claim Lomachenko Beats Mayweather
It’s hard to believe some boxing fans claim a prime WBC lightweight champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko would beat a prime “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather Jr. Here is where the question needs to be asked, do fans know there were two Mayweathers? Pretty Boy, who was an offensive force, and Money, who was more of a defensive specialist. In this author’s opinion, either version of the Hall of Fame Inductee washes Hi-Tech. Lomachenko was a top-tier fighter given the moniker “No Mas Chenko”, but he still had flaws that Mayweather would have exploited.
When looking at the Ukrainian’s losses to Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez, Mayweather was far better at their age. Yes, Lomachenko’s athleticism, movement, and speed were top-notch, but Floyd’s defense and counter-punching would have been too much. Furthermore, prime Mayweather’s jab and speed would have been too much for Hi-Tech. In fairness, this author feels that Lomachenko would have won three at best, four rounds.
