Emanuel Navarrete vs Francisco Horta set December 7!

Zanfer Promotions has announced WBO super bantamweight champion Emanuel Navarrete (29-1, 25 KO’s) will return to the ring on December 7 to make the third defense of his title against Francisco “Panchito” Horta (20-3-1, 10 KO’s) at the Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla, Mexico.

At the kickoff press event in Puebla, the champ made his intentions very clear.

“I always go for the knockout, I think it’s best to win by knockout and on December 7 the people of Puebla will see a great fight!”

Emanuel Navarrete – WBO Super Bantamweight Champion

As for the thirteenth ranked challenger, he’s looking to pull off what many would consider a major upset.

“On December 7th people will know me. Expect a war, we are going for the championship of the world!”

Francisco Horta – WBO #13 Ranked Contender

Navarrete is one of the most active world champions in the sport. This will be his third title defense in four months for the and his fourth fight in the last six months. That kind of schedule is very rare for modern-day world titleholders.

On paper, this looks to be a mismatch. A little more than a showcase defense for the 24 year-old champion who is having a great 2019 and is looking to set things up for an even better 2020.
