Emanuel Navarrete upsets Isaac Dogboe to win WBO super flyweight title


Rounds 1-3

In the first quarter of the fight, we saw the champion come out fast; trying to establish himself against his much taller adversary.

Rounds two through three saw momentum shift in favor of the challenger. He was able to catch and hurt the champion, with a left hook to the liver in round two.

Rounds 4-6

Dogboe was able to nullify Navarrete in round four electing to box from the outside using his hand-speed mixed in with body shots. The fifth and sixth rounds belonged to the challenger, who was able to land thudding left and right hands.

Rounds 7-9

Rounds seven and eight mirrored each as we saw Dogboe start to work the body more, and hurt Navarrete. Round nine saw both men trade big shots, with Navarrete appearing to get the better of the exchanges.

Rounds 10-12

The tenth round found Dogboe in trouble as he slipped in his corner and was hit with a left hand in the process. Navarrete won the championship rounds, as he hurt the champion repeatedly; forcing Dogboe to hold on for dear life.

The Decision

Emanuel Navarrete wins via unanimous decision to become the new WBO super flyweight champion. The scores read 115-113 116-112 (X2).
